Adeboye appealed for donations for the project.

He said:

"Those of you who were here yesterday when we were still at the old arena, I announced to you that we had a good problem. The camp was full of people. We had to beg all those who are trying to come in to come over here. Because there was a go slow that spilled over to the expressway."

The cleric gave the option of 10 people to donate N1 billion each: 100 individuals to gift N100 million each, 1,000 worshippers - N10 million each, and others - N1000 to N1 million.

He said:

"I need 10 people to drop 1 billion naira each, and 100 of my children to drop 100 million each."

A video of the request trended on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, August 10, with many internet users sharing their thoughts.

"I strongly believe some people only went to camp just to eat jollof rice and a place to stay for a week. Na wa! Only in Nigeria people spend billions in the name of rituals camps. What happened to building camps where people can learn different trades and craft. Sad."
