Nigeria Police Academy Announces Admission into Regular Course Degree Programmes

  • The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, has officially announced the commencement of online applications for its 12th Regular Course Degree Programmes, opening on 28th July 2025 and closing on 8th September 2025
  • The Academy invites qualified young Nigerians to take advantage of a transformative five-year programme combining academic excellence with professional police training
  • Successful applicants will graduate as Assistant Superintendents of Police II, ready to serve and uphold law and order across the country

The Nigeria Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State, announced that the online application portal for admission into its 12th Regular Course Degree Programmes would be accessible from 28th July to 8th September 2025.

According to the official statement, the Academy extended an invitation to suitably qualified young Nigerians to apply for what it described as a “unique opportunity” to receive both academic and professional training.

Successful candidates would be groomed for future service as Police Officers in the Nigeria Police Force.

Admission requirements for Nigeria Police Academy 2025

To be eligible for admission, applicants were required to:

• Be of Nigerian origin by birth and possess a National Identity Number (NIN).

• Score a minimum of 180 in the 2025 UTME, with the Nigeria Police Academy listed as their first-choice institution.

• Hold a minimum of six credits (including English and Mathematics) from WAEC/NECO in no more than two sittings.

• Be aged between 16 and 21 years as of 31st October 2025.

• Be physically, medically, and psychologically fit, with minimum height specifications of 1.67m for males and 1.64m for females.

• (For males) Have a chest measurement of at least 86cm (34 inches).

• Be unmarried and not pregnant at the time of admission.

• Possess a valid email address and phone number.

• Submit SSCE results not older than 2021.

Applicants were directed to visit http://admission.polac.edu.ng to generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR). A non-refundable application fee of ₦6,000 (including ₦2,000 Post-UTME charge) was payable through any commercial bank.

Following payment, candidates were required to complete the online form and upload scanned copies of:

• SSCE Certificate

• Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age

• Certificate of Origin

They were also instructed to print and present their completed application and guarantor forms during the upcoming Aptitude Test.

Aptitude test, screening & interview

The Academy outlined a four-stage automated selection process, including:

1. Aptitude Test (CBT) at the ICT Centre, Wudil — with the date to be announced.

2. Automated Physical Screening of shortlisted candidates, including inspection of documents like:• Birth Certificate, Indigene Certificate

• Certificate of fitness from government hospital

• Certificate of good character from village or district head

• Guarantor form endorsed by a senior public servant (GL13+), or senior officer in Police, Armed Forces, or Paramilitary

3. Automated Medical Screening for qualified applicants

4. Automated Interview and Final Selection

All successful candidates would be notified via SMS and email, with training dates to be communicated.

Available degree programmes at Nigeria Police Academy Wudil

Degree courses were offered under three main faculties:

Faculty Sample Programmes

Humanities English, History & Int’l Studies, Linguistics

Science Biochemistry, Computer Science, Forensic Science

Social & Management Sciences Accounting, Criminology, Psychology, Political Science, Education Management

The Academy confirmed that successful candidates would undertake five years of combined academic and police training. Graduates would be awarded a Bachelor’s Degree and commissioned into the Nigeria Police Force as Assistant Superintendent of Police II.
