EndSARS Report: SAN Alleges Threat to Life, Reveals who Should be Held Responsible

Lagos - Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN), a member of the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Restitution for Victims of SARS Related Abuses and Other Matters has alleged a threat to his life.

Legit.ng gathered that this is coming almost a week after the panel submitted its report that protesters were killed at the Lekki toll gate on October 20, 2020.

Adegboruwa raised the alarm in a statement shared on his official Facebook page on Monday, November 22, titled, ‘Nigerians Should Hold Government Responsible If Anything Happens To Me’.

The senior lawyer who represented the civil society organisation on the panel said he had been subjected to threats and attacks, adding that should anything happen to him the government should be blamed.

The member of the Lagos judicial panel also narrated how Miss Kamsiyochukwu Ibe, one of the prominent EndSARS protesters who testified before the committee was attacked on Sunday, November 21.

According to him, Ibe was dealt serious machete blows, in what was clearly an attempted murder, as reported by her counsel.

While stressing that he had not committed any crime by agreeing to be part of the panel, Adegboruwa noted he won't be intimidated or bend to the tactics of government to be silenced.

23 Victims Awarded N148.2m

The Lagos panel had held its final sitting after 131 proceedings on Monday, October 18.

On the last day, 23 deserving petitioners were awarded N148.2 million while a total of 70 victims were awarded N410 million by the panel.

Reacting to the report, a Nigerian commented:
