The burial of veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan in Ilaro, Ogun State, drew many of his colleagues, but it was the condition of two attendees that quickly shifted public attention and sparked concern online.
A video that circulated on Instagram on Monday, 24 August 2026, showed seasoned actors Remi Shitta-Bey and Elesho making their way through the crowd at the funeral.

While both men showed up to honour their fallen colleague, what viewers noticed about their physical states set off a wave of worry among fans.
Shitta-Bay appeared visibly thinner than fans remembered, nearly losing his footing at one point while walking and acknowledging people who recognised him.

Adewale Elesho, who walked alongside him, was also observed to have what appeared to be a wound on the side of his face, prompting further alarm in the comment section.a
Fans raise alarm over veterans' welfare
The footage did not sit well with many who grew up watching the two actors on screen. Commenters flooded the post, tagging Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and actor Kunle Afod, who has previously taken an interest in the welfare of elderly Nollywood figures, urging them to step in and offer support.
