Nigerian comedian Bovi Ugboma has opened up about his present relationship with his colleague Bright 'Basketmouth' Okpocha.
While the two comedians are notable performers from the same generation and have previously collaborated on stand-up comedy shows, their career paths have diverged in recent years, with each now predominantly producing their own independent shows.

In a recent interview, Bovi confirmed that their relationship was free of hatred.
The veteran comic revealed that he had actively shifted his objectives to spend more time with his family and further his profession in cinema and television.
“We are cool. Nothing happened (between us). Interests changed, especially for me. I wanted to focus, spend more time with family. I wanted to also elevate myself,” he said.
“I easily get bored with things. When I do something for too long, I try to do something else. As you know I started to do film. As you know I went back to TV. I wanted to build my own brand. I needed the world to know that I can stand with the mic endlessly and talk. I also started to think that when I blow the whistle and host shows at Eko Hotels and it fills up, why should I go and share money? Why should we be many and do just one show?”

Legit.ng earlier reported that Bovi Ugboma posted a video capturing a casual moment between him and his daughter, Elena.
In the clip, Bovi's daughter was seen singing, and when she stopped, she cheekily asked her dad to tip her.
However, Bovi refused, stating that he couldn’t pay her for things she did for herself. This led to a humorous argument as Elena began listing all the things she had done for him recently, including running errands.
Bovi stood firm, pointing out that these were simply tasks she had to do as a child.
He further explained that, just as he provides for her because she is his daughter, she too should fulfil certain duties as a child.

Elena fired back, saying he (Bovi) signed up for the role of being a parent when he decided to have her, whereas she was brought into the family without her consent.
She added that, if she had her way, she would have been the daughter of American actor and wrestler Dwayne Johnson.
Upon hearing this, Bovi jokingly disowned her, calling for her to be sent to Dwayne Johnson’s house.

Bovi Ugboma speaks on Ibom Air and lady saga
Legit.ng earlier reported that comedian Bovi Ugboma reacted to the Ibom Air incident involving a female passenger who allegedly assaulted a flight attendant.
In a post on his Instagram story, Bovi suggested that the outburst could have been a result of a mental health disorder. He affirmed that, while she must face the consequences of her actions under the law, she also needed to be assessed psychologically.
However, he later deleted the post, stating that he had spoken from a biased perspective, as he had not received the full details at that time.
