The unfortunate incident has sparked significant backlash from Nigerians, with many questioning what the reality star, Phyna, did or did not do in response.
In one of his latest videos, VDM mentioned seeing a post on Tunde Ednut's page, which highlighted the silence of the police, the presidency, and politicians on the matter.
Reacting to the post, the activist suggested that the silence was due to the fact that many of these figures depend on Dangote for survival. He pointed out that Dangote himself has donated cars to the police this year, showing pictures of the vehicles provided by the billionaire businessman.
VDM further noted that some politicians are counting on Dangote for support as the 2027 election period approaches.
VDM calls for punishment for Dangote over accident
VDM also called for punishment for Dangote in relation to Ruth Otabor's death. In the video, he compared the incident to a similar case in the United States, where a driver was charged with taking lives after causing a fatal accident while attempting a U-turn with a truck.

VDM highlighted that in the US, the driver was extradited and charged as an illegal immigrant, and the company’s license to operate with trucks was revoked.

He argued that if Nigeria were more like an advanced country, similar consequences would have followed. However, he lamented that because the system in Nigeria is dysfunctional, people often get away with such actions.
VDM’s advice to Nigerians
The activist shared his advice with Nigerians, urging them to drive carefully and avoid overtaking trucks.
He stressed that he has no other country to turn to and will continue to do his best to advocate for change in Nigeria.
He concluded by acknowledging that the country is in a mess and prayed that God would help Nigeria overcome its challenges.
