Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams is dealing with an unexpected twist in her divorce settlement. Now, it could cost her the $7.3 million mansion she fought to keep.
According to Us Weekly, her ex-husband Simon Guobadia’s former divorce lawyer, Onyema Farrey, filed an attorney’s lien against the property on June 10, claiming Guobadia owes $205,884.25 in unpaid legal fees.
The five-bedroom, eight-bathroom Georgia estate spans over 15,000 square feet and was awarded to Williams after the court sided with her in their high-profile divorce. But now, the debt tied to Guobadia is threatening to complicate her ownership.

How the drama began
Williams filed for divorce in February 2024 after just 15 months of marriage, asking the court to enforce their prenuptial agreement.
Guobadia, who was recently deported back to Nigeria, fought back, arguing that the prenup should be thrown out because Williams allegedly misled him during negotiations, claiming she planned to be a stay-at-home mom and not return to reality TV.
Weeks later, Williams secured temporary exclusive use of the mansion while the legal battle continued — a move the court later made permanent in the divorce ruling.
The verdict and the twist
On June 11, the divorce was finalized. The judge enforced the prenup, ordered Guobadia to pay Williams $40,000 in monthly spousal support for 14 months, and officially awarded her the home.
However, the deal came with strings attached: Williams must pay her ex 50% of the equity and refinance the mortgage within 36 months to remove his name. If she can’t, the house will have to be sold.

Netizens react to Porsha Williams' news
Legit.ng compiled the reactions of netizens below:
@TheGlobal_Index:
"She was happy divorcing her husband then finds out he not paying for child support"
@Socialaudiodope:
"Well, Porsha thought she was upgrading her life with that mansion, but it turns out she just inherited Simon's mess. Guess marrying for money doesn't always pan out when your ex decides to play hardball with the lawyers. Maybe she should stick to reality TV instead of reality checks."
@Update1page:
"Imagine getting the mansion in the divorce just to find out it comes with a built-in “repo” feature."
@Aya_Muzi:
"The best thing to do is to always have a huge debt against your mostly priced asset and when they divorce you give them that asset with its liabilities. Let them inherit your biggest problems."
