FCT, Abuja - The Federal Government has released the 2026/2027 admission list for candidates offered places in Junior Secondary School One (JSS1) across Federal Unity Colleges (FUCs) nationwide.
The announcement came from the Federal Ministry of Education, with the release approved by the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa.

The Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, said the development shows the government's resolve to run an orderly and transparent placement process for students seeking entry into federal schools.
Boriowo made this known in a statement issued by the ministry's X handle @NigEducation on Monday, August 24, 2026.
How to check federal unity school admission list
Parents and guardians can confirm whether their children or wards secured places by visiting the FME Posting Portal at fmeposting.com.ng or by checking the notice board at the Federal Unity College closest to them.
Candidates who were successful are required to print their admission slips from the portal and report to the specific college indicated on the slip to complete the confirmation process.
The ministry urged parents to act quickly and ensure that admitted candidates present themselves at their assigned colleges within the required timeframe.
Minister's message to successful candidates
Dr Alausa congratulated all admitted candidates and called on them to take their education seriously.
He urged the students to approach their time in school with discipline, hard work, and a commitment to doing well academically.
Federal Unity Colleges are boarding secondary schools run by the Federal Government and are spread across all states in Nigeria.
Admission into JSS1 is conducted annually and is among the most competitive processes at the junior secondary school level in the country, given the schools' reputation for academic standards.
FG orders closure of 41 Unity Colleges over insecurity
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the federal government ordered the shutdown of 47 federal unity colleges following two mass abductions of schoolchildren in Kebbi and Niger states recently.
The directive was contained in a circular dated Friday, November 21, and signed by the director of senior secondary education, Binta Abdulkadir.
It mandates principals of the affected schools, most of them in northern Nigeria, to “suspend academic activities and release students with immediate effect"
