As electric vehicles continue to gain acceptance in Nigeria, Carloha Nigeria, the official franchise holder and assembler of Chery vehicles in Nigeria, has introduced the Chery Q, a compact electric hatchback designed to offer smart, practical and sustainable mobility for Nigerian motorists.
The model draws inspiration from Chery International’s popular QQ family while combining a compact body with electric power, intelligent technology and modern safety systems.

Developed around the theme “Quest for Joy,” the Chery Q is targeted at young professionals, families and urban drivers looking for a connected and environmentally friendly vehicle.

The car’s exterior design, which has earned both the Red Dot Design Award and iF Design Award, features geometric styling, rounded LED lighting and a contemporary two-tone cabin.
Despite its compact appearance, the Chery Q has an 85 per cent space-efficiency ratio. It measures 4,195mm long and has a 2,700mm wheelbase.
Its luggage compartment offers 375 litres of space, expandable to 1,450 litres, while a 70-litre front trunk and 38 storage compartments provide additional room.
Chery Q's rear-wheel drive and intelligent technology
The Chery Q uses a rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive platform with independent suspension and balanced weight distribution. Electric Power Steering and One-Box Brake-by-Wire technology are designed to provide responsive handling, effective braking and improved energy recovery.
Safety is supported by a Level 2 Intelligent Driver Assistance System with more than 20 functions. These include Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intelligent High Beam Control, a 540-degree panoramic camera and Automated Parking Assist.
Inside, the vehicle features a 15.6-inch high-definition touchscreen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor. Other technology features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, intelligent voice control, 50W wireless charging and remote vehicle management through a mobile application.

400km range and fast charging
For electric driving, the Chery Q has an estimated range of up to 400 kilometres under the NEDC testing standard.
Its fast-charging system can charge the battery from 30 per cent to 80 per cent in 16.5 minutes, helping motorists spend less time waiting for their vehicles to recharge.
The electric hatchback also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, allowing owners to use the vehicle’s battery to power compatible electrical devices and equipment.
The vehicle also comes with CarlohaCare 6-6-7, which provides a six-year warranty, six years of free servicing and a seven-day repair commitment. Customers are entitled to a courtesy car if repairs are not completed within seven days.
