Trevon Diggs’ parents: meet Stephanie and Aron Diggs
Stephanie and Aron are from the Washington, D.C., area and raised Trevon Diggs and his siblings there. Here is what is known about them:
Stephanie Diggs
Stephanie Diggs has been described as the family's "rock" and "Superwoman." After Aron's death, she often worked 18-hour shifts and long commutes to make ends meet. She raised five children on her own after the demise of her husband in 2008.
Stephanie had a philosophy that said, “Control Stefon, control the house”. This meant that if Stefon behaved well, the younger kids would follow. Trevon has expressed deep gratitude for his mom’s sacrifices. After he was drafted in 2020, Trevon said in a phone interview with the Dallas Morning News,
I love her with all of my heart. I can’t thank her enough. I don’t know how to repay her. There’s nothing I can do to match everything that she has done for me in the past. … She worked hard. I’m doing it for her now. Now, it’s my turn. I’m going to work hard for her.

Aron Diggs Sr.

Aron Diggs Sr. was a former amateur basketball player who became a dedicated father and coach to his sons. He introduced Stefon and Trevon to football at a young age and served as their youth coach. Aron insisted on homework, prayers and 200 exercises each night, then took them running on bleachers and drills after school.
Unfortunately, Aron died of congestive heart failure in January 2008, leaving Stephanie to raise the children on her own. Stephanie Diggs worked for three decades as an Amtrak attendant and held jobs at Target and Toys “R” Us to support her family.
Aron was a die-hard Cowboys fan and passed that love of the game to his boys. Trevon later noted during The Dallas Morning News interview that his father was a Cowboys fan. He said,
My dad was a Cowboys fan before he passed. He always been a Cowboys fan, ever since we was little. Every time the Cowboys come on, sometimes we cheer, sometimes he was angry, but that was our team regardless.

The NFL cornerback added,
I've always been a Cowboys fan and I'm thankful, just happy this happened. With my father passing and him being a Cowboys fan, I'm kinda like living out his dream so I'm thankful.
Before his demise, Aron left his sons a final charge. In a letter animated by the NFL, Stefon recalled that their father told him to take care of his little brothers,
You needed a father just like I needed a father, but I knew what pops told me. I still think about it to this day. He told me, 'Take care of your little brothers’…Even though there will always be a huge hole in our hearts, I feel like he gave me a mission, which I feel like I did the best way I know how and that is to guide, provide and protect.
After Aron fell ill, the boys often saw him watching their games from the sidelines and in the hospital, asking for updates. His hard work and belief in his sons’ talent left a lasting legacy.

Trevon’s brother, Stefon, often marvels at having his brother in the league. When asked how cool it is to share the NFL stage, he told the Wall Street Journal;
It’s cool as hell… It’s a small group of guys with siblings. It’s probably not as cool for me as it is for my mom. She’s got a special womb or something – she’s pushing out the athletes.

He just took us under his wing, knowing we didn't have a father figure. Just took on that role, basically. Guiding us, providing for us, being there when we needed him. Everything. Being a brother and a father. That's tough. That's a lot to ask of somebody that young.
