7 Feared Dead As Fleeing Boko Haram Terrorists Attack Yobe

Seven persons have been confirmed dead in a fresh attack by Boko Haram terrorists on Kwanti village in Fika local government area of Yobe state.

Leadership reports that a witness, Isa Dafa, confirmed the incident on phone, adding that the insurgents stormed the town at about 11.40pm on Friday, November 20, 2015, and started shooting.

While some of the residents fled into the bush, many fled the community to escape attack and many others moved to the local government headquarters for safety.

This recent attack on the community is coming about three months after the terrorists attacked the town and killed many people, including civilians and security personnel.

Many people were also injured during the infamous attack which left government and public buildings in sorry states.

A security source in the state who confirmed the incident, disclosed that the attack was carried out by fleeing Boko Haram members as a way of creating fear and panic in the minds of the villagers.

Colonel Dahiru Bako, the Commander, 27 Task Force Brigade also confirmed the attack, saying it came barely days after they arrested three Boko Haram insurgents in Jakusko and two others in Damaturu, Yobe State.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Saturday, November 21, disclosed its plan on bombarding the Sambisa forest, notorious hideout of the Boko Haram insurgents.
