Shot labour party chieftain passes away

Mr Tunji Oyelade, a chieftain of Labour Party (LP) in Osun State, who was shot last Wednesday by masked gunmen at his residence in Inisha, a town in Odo Otin local government area of the state, is dead.

Mr. Tunji who was shot in the belly and rushed to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital, Osogbo after the incident passed away over the weekend as efforts to save his life by medical practitioners proved abortive.

The deceased also known as “Abincin” had dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) earlier this year and moved to Labour Party, where he served as transition committee chairman before a substantive chairman was elected during the recently conducted State Congress.

According to a close family member, who pleaded anonymity, the late politician died as a result of the gunshot injuries he sustained after he and his wife were attacked by suspected assassins in their residence.
