Boko Haram Ambush Motorists, Abduct Four In Borno State

Hardly a day passed since unknown gunmen, allegedly belonging to the dreaded Boko Haram sect, ambushed motorists in Borno State villages of Gwoza-Firgi-Ngurosoya federal highway, when, on Monday, another group of insurgents assaulted motorists along the troubled Maiduguri-Damboa-Biu road.

The first incident resulted in death of five passengers, one of whom was en route to Maiduguri to attend his brother's wedding.

In the course of the second attack, two trucks loaded with oranges and a Toyota car were set ablaze, and the drivers were abducted, their destination still unknown.

The last incident, it was gathered, took place not far away from Iimanti/Bullabulin Ngarwa communities, notorious for previous deadly road attacks masterminded by Boko Haram.

A motorist/driver who managed to escape the attack and identified himself as Mallam Musa Usman, narrated that the incident occurred at about 9am on Monday. A group of terrorists, while crossing over the highway from their camps in Sambisa Game Forests, came across a number motorists on the road, barricaded them, and set the vehicles ablaze.
