President Muhammadu Buhari left the country this morning on his first official duty.

The president left for Niger Republic to hold talks with President Mahamadou Issoufou on security and how to curb the activities of the terrorist group, Boko Haram in the region.

The trip is seen as President Buhari's readiness to tackle the enormous challenges facing the country, one of which is insecurity owing majorly to the activities of the terrorist group.

The Republic of Niger, has been collaborating with Nigeria in the fight against the Islamist terrorist group, Boko Haram.

The president in his inaugural speech expressed gratitude to the neighboring countries Niger, Chad and Cameroon, who joined in the fight against the insurgency.

President Buhari is also expected to visit  Chad on Thursday, before returning home.

Meanwhile the Vice president, Yemi Osinbajo is currently in Sudan on another official assignment.
