PDP Senatorial Candidate Rushed To Hospital After Electoral Defeat

A Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) collapsed on hearing of his defeat in last Saturday’s gubernatorial and House of Assembly election.

According to Vanguard, the PDP candidate who’s name is withheld has been hospitalized and is now responding to treatment.

The candidate had contested for Edo South constituency seat but lost to another  candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the April 11 election.

Upon his collapse, he was reported to have been rushed to a private hospital, then later transferred to UBTH after his condition stabilized

In last Saturday election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state floored the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the House of Assembly elections, winning 21 out of the 24 House of Assembly seats in the state.

Mr Mike Igini , the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Edo state said elections were conducted under a peaceful atmosphere. He also commended the people of the state for their support throughout the election period.
