Lagos state Governor-elect, Akinwunmi Ambode paid a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos, HRH Oba Rilwan Akiolu yesterday April 13 at his Iga Idunganran palace in Lagos Island.
The Oba had publicly endorsed Ambode’s candidacy claiming to have handpicked him to be the next governor of Lagos state.
Oba Akiolu who has been under fire over his alleged threat to the Igbos unless they voted for the APC governorship candidate during the election in the state, on April 12, Sunday, organized a prayer session for the peaceful coexistence of Nigeria in general and Lagos in particular.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Akinwumi Ambode won the Lagos State governorship election on Saturday, April 11 pulling 811,994 votes .

The National Leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, attributed Ambode’s victory to the radical transformation and well-articulated programmes he started 16 years ago in the state.
