A Nigerian man, Joseph Ladipo, has received big honour in Florida as the state governor, Ron DeSantis, appointed him as both surgeon general and secretary of the department of health.
In speaking about the Nigerian man, Governor Ron said Ladipo has a big academic and medical record, Guardian reports.

The governor stated that he is in great hope of the excellence the Nigerian man will bring to his state in terms of leadership.

In response, Ladipo said that he is very much honoured to get the new role. He added that he is happy to serve in the state.
It should be noted that the Nigerian man was recently given a professorship at the University of Florida. Before he joined the university, he was an associate professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine.
A Nigerian woman recognised in Canada
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that a brilliant Nigerian woman, Tito Daodu, was recognised by APSA Surgeon as the first black female pediatric surgeon in Canada working at Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation.
The association said Tito is so passionate about helping the marginalised in society as a way to improve people's general standard of living.
Many tweeps praised the woman for how she has sacrificed a whole lot to get to where she is today.

In similar news, a Nigerian man identified as Mojib Olasupo Baruwa went online to narrate how his relocation has been since he left Nigeria in 2020.
He said he had to resign from his job with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), adding that his friends thought he was out of his mind to have left such a good job.
Olasupo said he had to do that because he wanted so much to be with his wife and daughter. He stated that the relocation was never easy but he learnt a lot.
