Amazing Aunt Builds Nephew Adorable House after Being Called Homeless by Peers

In the Meru culture, a boy is not supposed to share a house with the parents after initiation stage, especially if the house is small.

So, when Rosemary Murithi's nephew Brian Mutugi lost his mother in 2005 at a tender age, a big chunk of his dreams wafted away into thin air.

Things got worse when he got into high school and became a laughing stock of fellow students because he had nowhere to invite them for group discussion when it was his turn.

In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke's Hillary Lisimba, Rosemary said:

"Fellow students thought he was homeless and it affected his self-esteem, that is what made me decide to build him a hous."

About the house

Located in Tharaka Nithi county, Baruo Village, the house has one bedroom, a sitting room, bedroom, toilet and bathroom, and a spacious kitchen.

So far, only the ceiling, front veranda and plumbing remain undone, but plans are underway to finish them then the young man will hustle on his own to expand it.

She said:

"I am proud of myself and the boy too as he has never let me down. When he is home he does all the house chores. He is so respectful."

Apart from the structure itself, Rosemary bought the curtains, a two seater sofa, gas cooker and a few items for the bedroom.

Philanthropist at heart

The wife and mother of two boys indicated that having been brought up from a humble background, she loves supporting the needy whenever she can.

In her words:

"I pay their school fees as well as do motivational speaking once in a while just to encourage the students that they can make it in life."

Legit.ng previously reported that a man brought a big smile to his mother's face after she complained about the issue she was having with paying rent.

In a Twitter post, the young man posed with his mom in front of a building, perhaps the one he just built for her.

While @SomtoSoocial called the achievement little wins, many disagreed, saying any house is a huge achievement. Read more:
