“We are calling on elder statesmen to, temporarily, halt their well-deserved rest, and take the task of saving Nigeria from complete destruction. In this regard, former presidents, heads of state, ex-service chiefs and so on would be co-opted into a National Elders Committee.”

Specifically, they requested General Yakubu Gowon (rtd) to call a “meeting of erstwhile presidents and heads of states and their deputies so that the serving president may call for an enlarged Council of State meeting, which will also include former military governors and state governors –both serving and retired. This will also be with the representation of the youths. The purpose is to correct the leadership structure failure in Nigeria.”

Going further, the group called on those involved in attacks against individuals, public facilities to stop their actions immediately.

NCFront added:

Plots to unseat Buhari

Meanwhile, had reported that the Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) accused a former Nigerian leader of plotting to force President Muhammadu Buhari to resign.

The pro-Buhari group made the allegation in a statement signed by its chairman, Niyi Akinsiju, and secretary, Cassidy Madueke, in Abuja.

Buhari’s supporters claimed that a former president whose name was not mentioned and some other conspirators are behind the plot. The group alleged that the conspirators under the guise of eminent persons planned to instigate an uprising to force the resignation of the president.

Also, the Nigeria First movement on Friday, May 21, alleged that there are well-orchestrated plans by some individuals to blackmail the immediate past chief of army staff Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai (retired) and other former service chiefs.

Speaking at a press conference attended by in Abuja, the secretary-general of the group, Richard Augustine said a grand plan is already in motion to belittle the personalities of the past service chiefs and their records while in office.

Augustine said Nigeria First is surprised that anyone in his or her right mind would harbour such a plot irrespective of the sacrifices made by the service chiefs during their tenure in office.
