Jose Mourinho is understood to have met with Tottenham players after he was relieved of his duties as manager of the north London club, Daily Mail.

According to The Telegraph, after holding a two-hour showdown with the club's management, the 58-year-old also had a four-hour talk with Spurs players before he finally left the premises.

The Special One was believed to have been ready to hold a training session with the players before the unexpected happened.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Jose Mourinho's sacking as Tottenham boss has not gone well with some sections of fans who believed the Portuguese boss still has what it takes.

The Special One took over from Mauricio Pochettino and have only managed to keep them in seventh position in the Premier League.

It is understood the former Chelsea boss was told Spurs want to be involved with the Super League.

The Lily Whites had difficult times coping with the Europa League at the round-rubbing stages which Mourinho raised concerns about the congestion for his players.
