Govs Okowa, Ortom congratulate Senator David Mark at 73

Delta state governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has congratulated former President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, on his 73rd birth anniversary, describing him as an inspirational leader.

In a statement sent to Legit.ng on Thursday, April 8 by his spokesman, Olisa Ifeajika, the governor rejoiced with the family, friends, and political associates of the former military officer who served the country in various capacities as military governor, minister, and later lawmaker.

He stated that the leadership qualities of the former boss of the Senate were worthy of emulation, saying he was a great democrat, astute administrator, and a leader of inestimable value.

Similarly, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue described Senator Mark as a statesman, seasoned administrator, and a bastion of democracy who he said has stood for the rule of law, equity, and justice.

In a statement sent to Legit.ng on Thursday, April 8 by his spokesman, Terver Akase, Ortom noted that the numerous acts of philanthropy and other humanitarian interventions Senator Mark has made have had a positive impact on the lives of the people.

The governor stated that the wealth of experience the former Senate President has gathered over the years has been quite useful for the development of the country, especially in sustaining peace and development.

Recall that Governor Okowa Monday, March 23, congratulated the national chairman of the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, on his 66th birth anniversary.

Okowa said Secondus as an astute politician, had elevated the profile of the PDP and added value to its integrity.

Last month, Governor Okowa congratulated Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on his 64th birth anniversary.

Governor Okowa lauded Osinbajo for his astute contributions toward good governance in the country, stressing that in spite of challenges, the vice president had continued to make quality contributions to the stability and growth of Nigeria's economy.
