The palace of the Oba of Lagos located at Iga Idugaran, Lagos Island, has been attacked by hoodlums who vandalised vehicles and carted away several artefacts.
The attackers have seized the king's staff of office commonly referred to as ‘Opa Ase’.

The hoodlums were said to have claimed that the king was a politician and deserved to be punished for the woe of the country.
Meanwhile, Nigerians have taken to social media over the development.
"I am not in support of this on D Oba of lagos or any other attack, but is a lesson leaned for traditional rulers not to be politically biased Cuz they are father's to all, Cuz diz attack is not related to D Sars protest but accumulated anger or provocative statements of from past."
