Governor Godwin Obaseki has been accused of harassment. The allegation was raised by Patrick Obahiagbon.
Obahiagbon is the vice-chairman of the National Campaign Council on Communications and Publicity for the Edo governorship election.
He said the governor is harassing members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) serving in elected offices over their refusal to join him in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), The Sun reports.

He disclosed this in Benin when he addressed journalist on what he described as the intolerance of the governor.
Going further, he insisted that the governor's action is unacceptable and urged people with a democratic mindset to condemn 'this anti-democratic acts oozing from the seat of government, in the strongest of terms.'
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that ahead of the incoming governorship election in the state, Obaseki has revealed the relationship between him and President Muhammadu Buhari.
Legit.ng reports that his relationship with President Buhari is that of a father and son.
He said that he was on a zoom meeting with the president, during which they engaged on development issues affecting Edo people and Nigerians.
Obaseki noted that he and the president also discussed measures to manage the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Legit.ng had also reported that the political battle preceding the election has taken another dimension as parties continue to drag their opposition into disrepute in a bid to gain the heart of the state.
The guber election in the south-south state is scheduled to hold in September by the Nigerian electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Sensing Obaseki's political might, the APC said the governor will be defeated in the forthcoming poll and be put to shame.
Reacting to a statement earlier credited to the PDP in which the National Campaign Council (NCC) of the APC was said to have approached NEXIM Bank for $500 million loan to run the election, the ruling party stressed that its flagbearer Osagie Ize-Iyamu will emerge victoriously.
