What was meant to be a beautiful period for a new mum and her family, turned tragic as she lost her life hours after becoming a mother for the first time.

Twitter user, Sarki Suleiman had earlier taken to the micro-blogging platform to announce that his aunt recently welcomed a set of triplets after waiting for almost 9 years.

He shared the news at 1am on June 26.

However, he returned to quote the tweet with news of her death, barely 9 hours after sharing the good news. "My aunty just died, God why?" he wrote.

In a similar story, a woman identified as Patience Eze Chukwu died during childbirth. The woman, who hailed from Nkporo in Ohafia, Abia state, died on Thursday, April 23, Within Nigeria reports.

Legit.ng gathers that the woman gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl both of whom are in good health. The deceased's husband Evangelist Eze Chukwu said his wife passed away one year after their wedding. She was buried in a ceremony attended by only a few people due to the COVID-19 lockdown in Abia state.

Also, a 29-year-old woman sadly lost her life after delivering quintuplets in Asaba, Delta state. The woman identified as Chukwunonso Onyejekwe died due to complications after the delivery of her babies.

According to Vanguard, the woman's death was confirmed by the head of clinical services and training, Emmanuel Ezeunu, at the Federal Medical Centre in Asaba. Ezunu had revealed that the woman died 15 hours after she delivered her quintuplets.

Ezunu had also confirmed that she died due to acute respiratory failure after giving birth successfully through Cesarean Section.
