Douye Diri, Bayelsa governor, reveals that his return to power was earlier prophesied by the general overseer of Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye.

The governor reportedly made this confession during his testimony service at the church's headquarters along Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Friday, March 6.

Speaking in the midst of the congregation, Diri said when he lost the election to the candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) David Lyon, he came to the church to seek divine guidance and proceeded with the judiciary process.

“During the (judiciary) process, I visited this church on the 11th of December during the programme of the Great Turn-Around," Diri said.

“After the service, I went to see Daddy G.O. He prayed for me and thereafter, he said, ‘it is well. Go and when you receive it, come back to the church.''

“The judicial processes continued until the 14th of February about 24 hours to the swearing-in ceremony of the alleged winner.

"Brethren, a miracle was accomplished. The Supreme Court declared me the winner of that election. I have come to give Him (God) the glory and to return the glory to Him and to Him alone."

Diri thanked the RCCG general overseer for his spiritual support and said his coming to the church is to show gratitude to God.

Legit.ng recalls that Diri, a candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), lost to David Lyon in the Bayelsa gubernatorial election, prompting the results of the election to be contested through the judiciary appeal process.

But in its judgement on February 14th, David Lyon was sacked by the Supreme Court on the ground that his running mate Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo presented forged certificates.
