- President Buhari said that Lawan's maturity in leadership has led to a lot of achievement for the nith National Assembly

President, Muhammadu Buhari has sent his congratulatory message to Senate president Ahmad Lawan who turned 61 years on Sunday, January 12.

In a message through a presidential media aide, Garba Shehu, President Buhari said that Lawan's discline and maturity in the field of leadership has yielded a lot of positive achievement for the ninth National Assembly, PM News reports.

The president said praised the Senate president for going out of his comfort zone to look at things from a broader persperctive in relation to making decisions that affects the lives of Nigerians.

The statement read in part: “At 61, the President believes the Senate President’s rich experience as an administrator, educator and lawmaker will go a long way in shaping policies that will directly impact on the livelihood of Nigerians, while commending his responsive and inclusive leadership style.

“President Buhari prays that the almighty God will continue to guide Dr Lawan to provide strong leadership, and grant him longer life and good health.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that President Buhari had advised young Nigerians how to experience a succesful marriage.

The president on Friday, December 27, admonished young citizens who are intending to get married to go to balanced and exemplary persons for advice if they must be strong and remain as one.

President Buhari said this in his congratulatory message to son of the Senate president, Ahmad Lawan, who got married in Kano on Friday.

The president's message was delivered by a delegation that include the minister of the FCT, Mohammed Musa Bello, minster of defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (rtd), minster of agriculture, Sabo Nanono and minister of aviation, Hadi Sirika.

Buhari in his message said: “If you’re looking for some advice on life, relating to any aspect, you have to focus and learn from those with good examples.
