Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed that he has a cordial relationship with his biggest rival Lionel Messi who plays for Barcelona.

This statement from the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star comes after the two players met at the UEFA award ceremony in Monaco.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were both beaten for UEFA's Men's Player of the Year award by Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk.

But before the winner of the award was announced, Ronaldo who was sitting next to Lionel Messi was asked if he is missing the rivalry between him and the Argentine.
