- Independiente gave the 26-year-old the boot after they got eliminated from the Copa Sundamericana
Bendix Parra, a Venezuelan footballer, was sacked by his Paraguayan club Independiente after missing his penalty kick using the Panenka style.
The 26-year-old stylishly chipped the ball which the awaiting goalkeeper chested with the easiest of saves.
Independiente eventually lost to La Equidad of Colombia and got eliminated from the Copa Sundamericana, a version of the Europa League.
Parra is now looking for a new club after the Paraguayan outfit were left furious and sacked the Venezuelan.
Independiente missed out on earning £154,000, which they would have helped them survive financially after slipping to the bottom of their domestic league.
President Heriberto Gamarra said: "He is fired because we want to leave this episode behind us."
It was a harsh outcome for Parra, who was not even the only player on his team to miss a penalty in the match.
But with his side languishing in the bottom of Paraguay's Primera Division, the owner was not prepared to take any prisoners.

But Parra along alongside team-mates Jose Baez and Reinaldo Benitez all missed their respective spot-kicks as La Equidad went through.

It was reported on local media that the 51-year-old coach has been secretly dating Patty Gonzalez, wife of star player, Edgar Benitez.
