Champions League winners Real Madrid have reportedly slammed a price tag of £80 million on Manchester City target Mateo Kovacic.

The 24-year-old has been impressive for Croatia in their quest for winning the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

They will battle 1998 winners France in the final of the 2018 edition of the competition later today at the Luzhniki Stadium.

However, since the were able to secure Jorginho's signature from Napoli, the Citizens boss Pep Guardiola has made the Madrid star one of his major signing this summer.

FA Cup champions Chelsea unveiled Jorginho on Saturday after securing his signature after sealing a five year deal with the Brazil-born Italy international.

The Blues new manager Maurizio Sarri influenced Jorginho's switch to the Stamford Bridge after he was touted to join City this summer.

City recently broke their transfer record after signing Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City in a £60 million deal, while they are expected to land Claudio Gomes this month when he reaches the age of 18.

The midfielder – one of the best young players in France – will quit Paris Saint-Germain and sign a five-year deal at City.

Pep Guardiola has failed to formalize an agreement with Napoli for the Italian international playmaker amid reports Chelsea could hijack the deal.

According to the Mirror, the Emirates outfit have enquired about the Real Madrid midfielder as they look at other options.
