I have no link with Plateau killings - Governor Tambuwal cries out

- Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state has denied having a link with Plateau killings

- The APC governors' forum on Friday, June 29, described the killings as totally unacceptable

- Tambuwal said he has called the attention of security agencies to the purported video that linked him with the killing

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state has called on Nigerians to ignore a 'satanic video' linking him to the killings of over 200 persons in some villages of Barkin Ladi local government area of Plateau state.

Daily Trust reports that Tambuwal who was on a condolence visit to the government and people of Plateau state alongside governors of Bauchi, Zamfara, Benue, Imo, Delta and Nasarawa states as well as Deputy Governors of Kaduna, Akwa Ibom, Oyo, Ondo and Edo states said: “I have no hands in this, I should not be associated with it; people should ignore this satanic video which is trying to incite the people against one another.”

Legit.ng gathered that he said that Plateau was like a second home to him which he frequented since he become the governor.

The governor said he has called the attention of security agencies to the video and was notified that it was created and circulated during the last administration.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) condemned the recent killings in Plateau and describing it as “totally unacceptable.”

Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara and chairman of the forum made the remark on Friday, June 29, in Jos, when he led members of the forum on a condolence visit to the Plateau governor.

He said that the purpose of the visit was to commiserate with the government and the people of Plateau over the unfortunate incident.

Yari said that the gruesome act of the perpetrators was currently undermining the leadership of the various state governments as the people were afraid of moving about freely.

He said that from March 1 to June 1, no fewer than 435 persons had lost their lives in Zamfara to attacks, adding that the issue was of national concern.
