Saraki moves to reconcile aggrieved APC members in Rivers
- Senator Bukola Saraki has waded into the crisis in the Rivers state chapter of the All Progressives Congress
- The Senate president urged all aggrieved members of the party in the state to forgive one another and embrace peace
- He further urged the party’s chairman in the state, Dr Ibiamu Ikanya, to initiate the peace-making process
Bukola Saraki, president of the Senate, has called on all aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers state, to reconcile and embrace peace.
According to Daily Trust, Saraki made his comments at the victory thanksgiving reception for Senator Magnus Abe in Port-Harcourt.

Legit.ng gathers that the Senate president attended the celebration in company of other members of the upper legislative chamber.
Also in attendance at the event were Governors Rochas Okorocha and Nyesom Wike of Imo and Rivers states respectively.
Saraki urged all party members in the state to forgive themselves and work towards achieving peace within.
He further called on the party’s chairman in the state, Dr Ibiamu Ikanya, to initiate the process of making peace.
Saraki stated: “We want all the APC members in Rivers state to call for peace and reconciliation. What is wrong is wrong; we want peace in Rivers state and we want peace to reign in the state chapter of the party.”
The Senate president further lauded Senator Abe for his peaceful disposition and humility saying the senator had been honoured by his colleagues because of these character traits.
He stated: “Abe works very hard for the party. If not for Magnus Abe, somebody will not be in the cabinet today. You are a very loyal and courageous person.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a convention which was being planned in Rivers state by the All Progressives Congress became chaotic following what witnesses described as a rift between Rotimi Amaechi and Magnus Abe.
Amaechi, a former governor of the state and current minister of transport, was reported to be having a political battle with Magnus Abe, a former ally.
Hundreds of supporters loyal to Abe reportedly blocked members of the party’s national convention committee from exiting Novotel Hotel, where the congress reportedly held.
