Police command evacuates civil war-era bomb in Enugu
- The undetonated bomb was found by the police at a farmland called Amaetiti in Oji River local government area of the state
- Ebere Amaraizu, the police spokesman, advised the public not to tamper with any of such objects whenever they are seen or discovered
- Members of the public were urged instead, to report promptly to the nearest police station or to call the commands control room numbers, if they came across such objects
An unexploded high caliber bomb used during the civil war was successfully evacuated by officers of the Nigerian Police on Thursday July 27.
According to reports, the unusual development was made public in a statement signed by Ebere Amaraizu, the public relations officer of the police command.

Legit.ng gathers that Amaraizu disclosed that the object was found at a farmland called Amaetiti in Oji River local government area of the state, on the morning of July 21.
It had been discovered on the property during farming, and eventually evacuated by the Explosive Ordinance Unit of the command
The PRO also revealed that the bomb has not been detonated, and is of high caliber.
He stated further: “The command to this end is advising members of the public not to tamper with any of such objects whenever they are seen or discovered either during farming, building or road constructions; but to report promptly to the nearest police station or to call the commands control room number on 08032003702, 08075390883,08086671202 and 08098880172 for prompt and necessary action.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a CIA report revealed the reason France backed Biafra during Nigerian civil war which took place from 1967 to 1970.
