Kcee is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and performer known for his blend of Afrobeats, highlife, and pop. He was born on August 18, 1979, in Ajegunle, Lagos. Kcee’s father used to be a DJ.

Kcee attended Tolu Primary School in Ajegunle, Central High School in Isolo, and the University of Nsukka (UNN), where he earned a degree in Theatre Arts. He planned to be a professional footballer, having played for Julius Berger and Puma football clubs locally. However, after Kcee won the Star Quest talent show in 2002, he became famous. He won alongside Precious John, their duo was called KC Presh until they split after 12 years together. After the split, the singer and his younger brother, Emeka Okonkwo (popularly known as E-money, a businessman and music executive), started the Five Star Music label. He has won several awards like the KORA, Channel O and Hip-hop world, now known as The Headies.
