Onana Disguises on ‘Okada’, Arrives Cameroon After Dismal Outing in World Cup Qualifiers

  • Andre Onana was filmed disguising himself by covering his head while arriving in Cameroon on a commercial motorcycle
  • The Manchester United goalkeeper made a blunder in the 53rd minute of their World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde
  • The defeat has put Cameroon’s 2026 FIFA World Cup hopes in jeopardy, as the Indomitable Lions hope for the playoffs

Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana was captured the moment he disguised himself by covering his head while arriving in Cameroon following their 1-0 loss to Cape Verde.

The 29-year-old is closing in on his Manchester United exit, but his performance in the last international break was awful.

Onana was in action for Cameroon, but he would not be impressed with the role he played in Cape Verde's winning goal in the World Cup qualifiers.

Both teams squared off in what was a top-of-the-table clash in qualifying, but Onana, who is set to join Turkish side Trabzonspor, did little to cover himself in glory.

He made the error in the 53rd minute of the encounter when Cape Verde forward Rocha Livramento won possession in the midfield before driving through the heart of Cameroon's defence.

The move left him one-on-one with Onana, who decided to stay on the line before the striker ticked home, while the keeper went the wrong way.

The win saw Cape Verde inch closer to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and they will confirm their place with a win in any of their final two matches.

Meanwhile, Cameroon will hope to compete in a play-off in a bid to secure a place in the global showpiece starting next summer, Mirror reports.

Onana and his teammates returned home, but the goalkeeper was caught disguising himself as he arrived in his home country.

He was spotted on a commercial motorcycle (Boda Boda or Okada), while a fan who recognised him captured the keeper on video.

Onana agrees deal to join Trabzonspor

Meanwhile, Onana is on the verge of joining Turkish club Trabzonspor and the deal is expected to be announced latest weekend.

He joined Manchester United under Erik ten Hag in 2023 and has remained the club's first choice under new manager Ruben Amorim.

Following the continued errors, fans are calling for the exit of the shotstopper, who is also one of the highest earners there.

His salary will be doubled at the Turkish club after he agreed to join the club, and he will travel to Turkey straight from Africa.
