The ban came after allegations that he deliberately sought a yellow card during a league game against Lazio, which forced an investigation into abnormal betting patterns linked to that incident, Punch reports.

As a result, Okoye will miss six competitive matches and can only return to action on October 19, when Udinese face newly promoted Cremonese away from home, TRT Global reports.
