“Below the Waist Area”: Victor Boniface Discloses Exact Location of His Injury

Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has finally opened up on his injury situation, having missed out on his transfer to Italian club AC Milan.

The Nigerian international was scheduled to join Milan on a season-long loan deal worth €30 million with an option to buy, with potential bonuses and add-ons.

He underwent medicals in the Italian capital, but reports later surfaced that the doctors were concerned about the injury to his knee.

The forward has a history of significant knee issues, including two surgeries on his right knee in 2019 and 2020, and a ligament injury in 2019.

A medical report at Milan said via Kicker via Thisday:

“The attacker’s right knee showed abnormalities during his fitness test in northern Italy. These were likely exacerbated by the individual training programme the Nigerian international completed with a private trainer in the summer before the start of preseason."

In a chat during an episode of the talk show 'The Culture League', Boniface, who was a guest alongside international teammates Tolu Arokodare and Wilfred Ndidi, discussed his injury problems.

Actress Osas Ighodaro asked the striker about his fitness status, wanting to know how the player is recuperating.

She then queried, "where is the location of the injury, is it toes?"
The discussion went further, and then Ighodaro suggested, "is it the waist area?":

Boniface responded, "a little bit below", leaving everyone bursting into laughter.

Midfielder Ndidi narrated that such an injury is delicate and it could take months before one fully recovers.

Ndidi noted:

"After the surgery, you can't put on clothes; so it's just a big T-Shirt. We have a lot of nurses. The location fo this injury. It takes about two-three months to be healed, because it's very sensitive.
"Two-three weeks you can't allow water go that area, so you have to lay covered so they take out the stitch and everything."

Meanwhile, Boniface has since joined Werder Bremen after passing medicals with the Bundesliga rivals.

He was subject to criticism and trolls on the internet, with many blasting him for his social media activity.

However, on the deadline day of the summer transfer window, the German club announced the signing of the forward, leaving many surprised.

Boniface returns to social media

Legit.ng earlier reported that Boniface has continued to jest on social media hours after he completed his move to a new club.

Hours after Boniface completed his deal to Bremen, Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare, who joined Wolves, congratulated his international teammate on Instagram. Arokodare lauded Boniface's move, saying: "Time to show them Boniface." Boniface responded: "Oga I no get power to remind anybody anything oooo."
