  • The Super League giants have until September 12, when the Turkish window closes, to complete a deal

Turkish Super League giants Fenerbahce have proposed a juicy contract to Ademola Lookman despite Atalanta's stance of no sale this summer.

Lookman and Atalanta have been at loggerheads since the summer of 2024 after he scored a hat trick against Bayer Leverkusen to help the club win the UEFA Europa League.

Paris Saint-Germain made an offer to sign him, which Atalanta swiftly rejected and promised the player that he would leave the following summer if the right offer arrived.

Italian giants Inter Milan have made three offers, including a €42 million fixed fee and €3 million add-ons, but the Bergamo-based club rejected it.

Lookman submitted a transfer request and published a statement on social media, confirming his intentions to leave the Serie A club after three years.

The reigning African Footballer of the Year claimed that the club had breached their agreement, which was to allow him to leave for the right offer.

La Dea responded that it had not reneged on any agreement, as they have been clear that he would not be sold to any other Italian club regardless of the fee.

The attacker refused to report for training for about two weeks in a bid to force a move, but the club did not shift their stance, forcing Inter Milan to walk away.

German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich proposed a loan with an option to buy when their bid for Nicolas Jackson was in jeopardy, but Atalanta rejected.

Atalanta pushed Lookman towards Premier League moves, but he was not keen on returning to England, despite strong interest from Tottenham Hotspur, as noted by TNT Sports.

Fenerbahce propose huge offer to Lookman

The transfer window in some leagues is still open, including the Turkish Super League and the clubs are set to take advantage of the European market again.

Galatasaray took advantage of the open window last summer to sign Victor Osimhen on loan from Napoli, and their rivals Fenerbahce could save another Nigerian.

According to Sportmediaset, Fenerbahce have proposed a contract offer worth €6 million per year (about ₦214 million per week) to convince Lookman to move to Turkey.

However, Atalanta's stance of not selling him remains a stumbling block to completing a deal, as well as their demand of about €55 million.
