The Nigerian forward, who made his move permanent from Napoli this summer in a record-breaking deal, continues to prove why he is one of the most feared strikers in Europe.

Galatasaray extended their perfect start to the season with a 3-1 victory over Rizespor at RAMS Park on Saturday night.

Former Tottenham defender Davinson Sanchez opened the scoring in the 20th minute before Osimhen doubled the advantage with a powerful header in the 65th minute.

It was Osimhen’s second consecutive goal for Galatasaray and his 28th overall in the Turkish Super Lig.

The 26-year-old striker all but sealed the win before Okan Buruk’s side added a third through Mauro Icardi to remain top of the table with 12 points from four games.

Rizespor, on the other hand, continue to struggle, sitting in 15th place with just one point and a single goal this campaign.

Osimhen declares Galatasaray as his new home

After the match, Osimhen delivered a powerful message to Galatasaray supporters, reassuring them of his loyalty to the Istanbul club.

Speaking at RAMS Park as revealed by Forza Cimbom, the Super Eagles striker and 2023 CAF Men’s Player of the Year winner said:

“This is my home. I will be here for many years. It is a privilege for me to be at Ali Sami Yen Rams Park, one of the most beautiful stages in world football.”

The 26-year-old’s words further cement his special relationship with the fans, who have embraced him as a hero since his arrival.

Osimhen’s move was made permanent this summer following a record-breaking transfer fee, and he has wasted no time in repaying the club’s faith in him.

Osimhen ready for more success

Osimhen’s consistency has been a key factor in Galatasaray’s dominance.

Last season, during his loan spell, he finished as the Turkish Super Lig’s top scorer with 27 goals and was voted the league’s MVP.

After sealing a permanent deal with Galatasaray, Osimhen is already off to another strong start with two goals in his first three league appearances this season.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Victor Osimhen scored a brilliant goal to help Galatasaray beat Caykur Rizespor and continue their perfect start to the 2025/26 season.

The striker, who scored 37 goals last season, connected with a brilliant cross from Abdülkerim Bardakcı and powered a header past the goalkeeper to make it 2-0.
