Victor Boniface’s anticipated transfer to Italian giants AC Milan is hanging by a thread, despite the player and club reaching an agreement.

However, the deal remains subject to medical clearance, and this is where complications have emerged, Soccernet reports.
Boniface’s injury record has raised red flags, forcing AC Milan to order multiple additional tests before confirming the transfer.
Boniface has endured two groin injuries in the past two seasons, alongside two cruciate ligament tears earlier in his career, setbacks that have kept him sidelined for significant periods.
While the Nigerian forward’s talent is unquestionable, AC Milan are wary of committing to a long-term deal without being certain of his fitness.
Long day of medical tests for Boniface
Boniface arrived in Milan yesterday, landing at Linate Airport at 2:49pm before proceeding for medical evaluations.

Standard checks at the hospital and later at the Centro Ambrosiano initially seemed routine, but AC Milan’s medical team pushed for deeper analysis.
By 5:00pm, Boniface was transferred to the Centro Ambrosiano to secure his sports fitness certificate. Things appeared to be progressing smoothly until the club’s doctors ordered additional tests at the Galeazzi Hospital, a facility renowned for orthopedics.
To emphasise the seriousness of the situation, AC Milan recalled their trusted orthopedic specialist from vacation to oversee the process.
Boniface was eventually released at around 8:30pm, but uncertainty lingers around the deal as a fourth round of tests was scheduled for the following morning.
Final verdict to decide Boniface’s fate
According to Gazzetta.it, the results of yesterday’s tests were expected to be announced immediately, but the verdict was postponed to allow for further checks.
The decision whether Boniface will join AC Milan now rests on the latest examinations being carried out today.
If the results are positive, Boniface’s dream of wearing the famous red and black jersey of the Rossoneri will finally come true.
However, a negative outcome would mean an abrupt end and collapse of the move, sending him back to Germany to continue his career with Bayer Leverkusen.
The Super Eagles striker, who has battled through multiple injury setbacks to reach the top level, now faces one of the most pivotal moments of his career.
AC Milan, cautious but hopeful, are balancing the risk of his medical history against the undeniable quality he brings on the pitch.
