According to SunSport, the couple met as teenagers in 1999 and officially married in June 2003.
Cech wrote on his Instagram Story:
"Martina and myself are sad to announce that we are separating after 26 years together. We remain best friends and immensely proud of our two children."
Their daughter, Adela, is a defender for the Czech Republic’s Under-17 national team, while their son, Damian, recently signed his first professional contract with Fulham as a goalkeeper.
Cech missed Adela’s birth in January 2008 due to a Chelsea League Cup semi-final against Everton, although he was not included in the squad.
The ex-goalie enjoyed a remarkable career, making 494 appearances for Chelsea after joining from French club Rennes in 2004 for £7 million.
He won four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups, and the UEFA Champions League in 2012.
After his departure from Stamford Bridge in 2015, he played four years at Arsenal, winning another FA Cup before announcing his retirement.
