The 2025/26 English Premier League will kick off this weekend with 20-time winners Liverpool trading tackles with Bournemouth on Friday night, August 15th.

The Reds won the 2024/25 EPL title with 84 points, with Arsenal finishing second place with 74 points.

Leeds United and Burnley gained automatic promotion from the Championship, while Sunderland beat Sheffield United in the play-off final to secure the third spot.

On Saturday, August 16th, Aston Villa will take on Newcastle at 12:30pm, Brighton and Hove Albion tackles Fulham, Sunderland versus West Ham United, and UEFA Europa League winner Tottenham Hotspur by 3pm, while former Champions Manchester City will face Wolverhampton Wanderers by 5:30pm.

According to SkySports, 2025 FIFA Club World Cup winners Chelsea face Crystal Palace by 2pm, Nottingham Forest battles Brentford by 2pm, while the star match is between Manchester United and Arsenal at Old Trafford by 4:30pm on Sunday, August 17.

Newly promoted Leeds United will trade tackles with Everton by 8pm on Monday, August 18, per ESPN.

Bright the Seer predicts winner of 2025/26 Premier League

A prophetess, Bright Ndibunwa, popularly known as Bright The Seer had purportedly predicted the winner of the 2025/26 English Premier League.

In a trending video on TikTok, the prophetess claimed that the Spirit of God showed her the winner of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League.

Bright The Seer revealed that a newly promoted Leeds United will shock the world. She said:

"The spirit of God is showing me that in the coming season, the Premier League and Champions League will be won by the Leeds football team nobody saw coming."

Fans react

Football fans have questioned Bright The Seer over her knowledge of the game.

A TikTok user challenged the prophetess to name the teams participating in the English Premier League.

God Pass Them said:

"Did u mean Leeds United FC??? I will save this video."

Mezie nwa wrote:

"Madam call team name, the premier league has 20 teams to contend for the title, so whoever plays well gets the trophy. if e sure for you call team name😏."

Bisharan Yesu Dole asholio added:

"Wonder shall end, upon all the problems we have in the world Na only football spirit dey show you,hmmm."

drshady5 said:

"But I Leeds did not qualify for the UCL."

Akoa nyɛ wrote:
