They have been under media scrutiny as to why they have yet to tie the knot, with many claiming Ronaldo was scared of losing half of his wealth in case of a divorce.

Despite these insinuations, there are reports that Ronaldo has an agreement to pay Georgina $100,000 monthly for life, even if they split up.

The Portugal national team captain earns over £200 million per year at Al-Nassr, having recently signed a new contract with the Saudi Pro League club in July.

Georgina confirmed in an Instagram post that she and the five-time Ballon d'Or winner are officially engaged after nine years of dating.

She shared a photo of their hands, with a diamond engagement ring on her finger, with the caption: “Yes, I do. In this life and in all my lives.”

Dolores believes her son did not find love before he found fame, and thus, Georgina has an economic reason for wanting to marry her son, who is close to becoming a billionaire.

The relationship between the two women was a subject of discussion early this year after Georgina liked a post, which was seen as a subtle dig at her mother-in-law.

The pair have maintained that there is no friction between them despite the media attempts to create one and have been spotted together at public events.
