Osun Guber Poll: Governor Adeleke Speaks on Dumping PDP for ADC

Osun State - Governor Ademola Adeleke has dismissed the report that he has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Governor Adeleke said the report is to create confusion and uncertainty in the minds of the people of Osun State.

The PDP governor said he is committed and grounded in the PDP while refuteing claims that he is joining the ADC.

As reported by Daily Trust, this is contained in a statement issued by Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

Olawale said Governor Adeleke has no intention or plan to dump the PDP for the ADC or any other party.

"The report is not only untrue but a calculated attempt by those afraid of the governor’s soaring acceptability to create confusion and uncertainty in the minds of the people of Osun State.
“We want to reiterate for the umpteenth time that Governor Adeleke remains committed to the PDP and has no plan whatsoever to join the ADC or any party for that matter. Governor Adeleke’s pre-occupation at the moment is the continued delivery of the dividend of democracy to Osun people who resoundingly gave him their mandates three years ago.”

Governor drags Tinubu-led FG to Supreme Court

Recall that Osun state government dragged the President Bola Tinubu-led federal government before the Supreme Court over the local government funds.

The southwest state wants the apex court to declare the action of Lateef Fagbemi, the AGF, as unconstitutional and make three other pronouncements.

The new originating suit was filed through the state attorney general and a team of legal practitioners led by Mike Ozekhome (SAN) and Musibau Adetunbi (SAN).
