FCT, Abuja - The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, said Peter Obi, will not secure the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or the Labour Party (LP) for the 2023 election.
Bwala said Obi will lose out in the race for the presidential tickets of the three parties – ADC, PDP and LP.

The presidential aide added that Obi may also not emerge as a running mate for presidential candidate of the ADC, PDP and LP.
He stated this on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, August 13, 2024.
According to Bwala, Obi will end up as Director General of the ADC coalition.
“I tell you, he is not going to get a ticket in any of the parties; that is Peter Obi.
“Now, the problem is that he may not even get the vice presidential ticket from the way things are going.”
Bwala further stated that the former Anambra state governor has lost than 50 per cent of his votes.
According to Bwala, the votes Obi lost are because they were built on agenda and politics but on rhetoric and division.
He also said the President Tinubu will get close to two million votes in the southeast in the 2027 election.

“But whether Peter Obi is a ticket bearer of the party, Peter Obi has lost more than 50 per cent of his votes. Because they were not votes that were built on agenda and politics.
“They were built on rhetoric and division, and Nigerian people’s eyes are open.”
2027 election: Jonathan told to step aside for Peter Obi
Recall that Obidient Movement leader Dr Yunusa Tanko urged former President Jonathan to back Peter Obi’s 2027 presidential bid.
Tanko said Obi is the most popular opposition figure, attracting interest from multiple parties and strong youth support.
Analysts warn that rival ambitions from Jonathan and Obi could split the opposition and aid the ruling party.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Solomon Dalung, a former minister of youth and sports, opened up on his key discussions with Obi ahead of the 2027 elections.
Dalung revealed Obi's stance regarding the single-term (four-year) presidency amid the calls for his return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Legit.ng reported that Obi stirred a fresh controversy after he reaffirmed his vow to serve only one term if elected president in 2027.
