Fish Magnet: Peter Obi Visits APGA Women Leader Over Son’s Killing, Photos Emerge

Awka, Anambra state - Peter Obi on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, paid a condolence visit to Mrs. Esther Chinyere Onyekesi to commiserate with her over the brutal killing of her son, Ifesinachi Onyekere, the owner of Fish Magnet outlet.
Reports say the deceased's mother is the women leader of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra state.

Sharing photographs on his verified X (formerly known as Twitter) handle and updating the public about his condolence visit, Obi described the slain Fish Magnet as a promising young Nigerian.
Recall Legit.ng had reported how Fish Magnet was kidnapped and later killed by yet-to-be-identified criminals, who abandoned his remains in Amawbia, a town in Awka South local government area (LGA) of the prominent southeast state.
Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, said:
"This shocking and senseless act of violence is a painful reminder of the worsening insecurity in our society.
"We must all raise our voices to strongly condemn such heinous acts."
Obi laments Fish Magnet's murder
The presidential hopeful, therefore, called on Nigeria's security agencies to thoroughly investigate the murder and bring the perpetrators to justice. The 64-year-old asked Nigerians to. as a matter of obligation, resist lawlessness.
He said:
"Our society must not become a haven for lawlessness. We must all work together - government, community, and citizens alike - to build a safer, more secure Nigeria."
Furthermoe, he prayed for eternal rest for 'Fish Magnet', while also asking God to give late Fish Magnet's family the strength and fortitude to bear "this heartbreaking loss".
VDM leads procession for ‘Fish Magnet’
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that a prominent social media influencer, Martins Otse, popularly known as 'VeryDarkMan', led a candlelight procession march in Awka, the Anambra state capital, for the slain 'Fish Magnet'.
