"My core values": Ogun governorship candidate speaks on dumping NNPP

Olufemi Ajadi, the governorship candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 election in Ogun state, has given a condition to dump the party for another ahead of the 2027 general election.

Ajadi, who spoke with Legit.ng in an exclusive interview, said he remained a committed member of the NNPP because the party gave him the platform to advocate for the youths, job creation and good governance.

Ajadi speaks on his core values

He explained that his core values aligned with the NNPP's principles of transparency, inclusivity and service. He explained that he will leave the party if the principles are compromised or the NNPP goes astray from its ideals.

He said:

"As of today, I remain a committed member of the NNPP. The party gave me a platform to advocate for youth participation, job creation, and responsible governance. My core values of transparency, inclusivity, and service align with the principles upon which the NNPP was founded.
"Unless those principles are compromised or the party strays from its ideals, I have no intention of defecting. I believe in building strong institutions, not just personalities or convenient platforms."

The NNPP 2023 governorship candidate also spoke on what the youth should expect from him, adding that his primary aim was to keep impacting lives and that it all boiled down to his resolve to serve.

NNPP chieftain gives condition to contest in 2027

He explained that he has embarked on a wider consultation, and his chances of running again for the Ogun state governor in the 2027 election would be determined by the people. He noted that he would not hesitate to offer himself for service, but he remained impacting on people's lives presently.

His statement reads:

"My ambition is not just about contesting elections; it is about impacting lives. Yes, I contested in 2023 to offer a credible alternative in Ogun State. The experience deepened my resolve to serve. As for 2027, I am consulting widely.
"If the people want me and I see a clear path to transformative leadership, I will not hesitate to offer myself again for service. But for now, I am focused on building capacity, mentoring youth, and strengthening our democratic values. My supporters should stay hopeful—I’m still very much in the game."

Ajadi leads NNPP campaigns in Remo

Legit.ng earlier reported that NNPP chieftain and Ogun 2023 governorship candidate, Olufemi Ajadi, has led the campaigns of the party in the forthcoming by-election in the Remo Area of the state.

Ajadi, while speaking at the flag-off of the party's campaign, disclosed how he was offered millions of naira to drop his governorship ambition during the 2023 election.
