How the FG's N50k Grant Works

The federal government has clarified that selection for the N50,000 grant is not open to public applications.

Beneficiaries are drawn from the National Social Register and verified identity records, meaning only those already in the government's existing database of vulnerable Nigerians are considered eligible.

Payments are being distributed in phases, with selected individuals contacted directly in batches.

The government also issued a warning to Nigerians against paying any third party who claims to be able to secure a spot on the beneficiary list, describing such promises as fraudulent.

Authorities additionally stated that Nigerians who have not yet received a text message notifying them of the grant should not automatically conclude they have been left out, as the rollout is ongoing in stages.
