Singapore has one of the most open border policies in the world, granting visa-free entry to citizens of more than 160 countries for short visits, according to the country's Immigration and Checkpoints Authority.

Rather than publishing a visa-free list, the ICA maintains a visa-required list of just 35 countries. Any nation not on that list, roughly 160 or more of the world's approximately 195 recognised countries, can enter Singapore without a visa for short stays.
Which African Countries Need a Visa for Singapore
Several African nations appear on the visa-required list, meaning their citizens must obtain a visa before travelling to Singapore.
Nigeria, Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Mali, Morocco, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan and Tunisia are all included.
Other countries on the list span the Middle East and Central Asia, covering Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, North Korea, Pakistan, Syria and Yemen, among others.
For Nigerians planning to japa or simply explore Southeast Asia, Singapore remains off the visa-free table for now.
The 96-Hour Transit Option for Some Visa-Required Nationals
Citizens of countries on the visa-required list are not entirely without options.
Singapore offers a 96-hour Visa-Free Transit Facility for nationals of India, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Georgia, Turkmenistan and Ukraine.
Indian nationals and holders of certain Chinese travel documents can access the transit facility if they hold a valid visa or long-term pass, with at least one month of remaining validity, issued by Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or the United States.
Nationals from CIS countries, Georgia, Turkmenistan and Ukraine qualify simply by holding a valid onward air ticket departing within 96 hours.
Extension of stay under the transit facility is strictly not permitted.
For the many travellers whose passports are not on the visa-required list, including citizens of the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea and most of ASEAN, entry into Singapore for short visits remains straightforward and requires no prior visa application.
