LASU student recounts her admission struggles

After finishing secondary school in 2019 and emerging as the best graduating female student, Mojisola revealed in a Facebook post on March 5 that she desired to study law at the University of Lagos and was not ready to give up on that dream easily.

This caused her to write the UTME four times, but she could not land her dream course, as her scores kept dropping each year.

At some point UNILAG offered her admission to study European Studies (French), and she accepted it, but declined it because the school fees jumped to an amount she could not afford. In her words:

"...At some point, I was offered admission into the University of Lagos to study European Studies (French). Even though it wasn’t the course I wanted, I accepted it because I just wanted to finally move forward.

"So I had to decline the admission.
"That moment was heartbreaking. It felt like another door had closed again.
"After that, I continued working and began to think seriously about other paths in life. I was tired and honestly starting to lose hope about school. I already started planning on how I'll save and start up a business of my own..."

Mojisola, who had almost given up on university education, recounted what her pastor said that changed her life and how she secured admission into LASU.
