OPM pastor's update on Aguba

In a Facebook post on March 31, Apostle Chibuzor recounted how he rescued Aguba, whose movies he enjoyed when he was younger, from the streets and offered him accommodation.

He explained the issues Aguba had with the caregivers looking after him and how he refused to accept a wife from Nigeria.

The OPM general overseer noted that he eventually relocated Aguba to a church property in Enugu, where he is being cared for by the wife of a regional pastor.

Apostle Chibuzor highlighted the responsibilities he took upon himself to shoulder for Aguba, whom he now describes as family, fearing that he could return to the streets if released back to Enugu fully.

He promised that the church would take care of his burial in the event of his death. Apostle Chibuzor's statement read in part:

"So I relocated him to a church property in Enugu, where I provided him with an apartment inside the church compound.
"As of today, 31st March 2026, Aguba is still there under my care.
"His feeding, clothing, medical care, and upkeep are all taken care of monthly.
"Just two weeks ago, he went for a medical check-up, and I sent ₦300,000 for his treatment.
"Because he drove away the last caregiver, I assigned the wife of the OPM Regional Pastor to take care of him — cooking, washing, and cleaning for him.
"She is doing this free of charge, without collecting any salary even when I insist on paying her salary, she refused to collect.
"Aguba has no one.
"If I release him back to Enugu fully, he may return to the streets where he was once found.
"AGUBA IS NOW MY FAMILY.
"I will continue to take care of him until the Lord calls him home.
"And by the grace of God, the church will also take responsibility for his burial..."
